Welcome to Havasu CrossFit, an elite fitness community located in Lake Havasu, AZ. HXF is Lake Havasu's first and original CrossFit Gym. Here at HXF our goal is to help you become a more efficient human being through functional fitness. Functional fitness focuses on building a body capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions, not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture created by a gym machine. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program scaled to your ability; the intensity is up to you. HXF is not bootcamp but a community that works together to accomplish our goals, push new limits, and achieve true fitness. Our CrossFit Trainers will teach you proper fundamental movements during a series of technique sessions that will prepare you for the full group workouts.
So you're wondering what CrossFit is all about and how you can join this life changing program. Easy! HXF offers a free CrossFit orientation and workout twice a month. We feel it's important that you understand what CrossFit is and also give you a chance to experience a CrossFit workout. We want you to know what you are getting into. Not everyone wants to work hard. Many are looking for that magic pill or just want to do the same boring routine. That’s not us. You will get results, but you will work for them. Most people will know if they like this or not after their first workout. If you decide to start CrossFit at HXF you must first complete our technique program. This is a 5 class program that is spread out over 2 weeks. During that time you will learn the fundamental movements of CrossFit, proper technique and get to put your new skills to the test in a CrossFit workout at the end of each class. We also give you a personal account on the HXF website so you can keep track of your workout results, body measurements, body fat %, diet and mix it up with the rest of the HXF family on the WOD blog.
(If you have previous experience with CrossFit you may be exempt from the technique program)

Q: Is CrossFit for everybody?
A: Anybody can do CrossFit, but not everybody will do it. It is hard work, and some folks don’t have what it takes to succeed. Your fitness level is irrelevant, but your willpower is what matters. Do you want to be your best? Do you want to change your current level of fitness? How bad do you want it?
Q: Do I need to get in shape before doing CrossFit?
A: No. You don’t need to do P90x, spin class, lift weights, do more cardio, lose some weight or anything else before doing CrossFit. Our workouts are universally scaleable to all levels and abilities. Aside from that, nothing will prepare you for them. The fastest way to get in shape is to start doing CrossFit and eating right as soon as possible.
Q: Will I get a six pack?
A: With hard work and proper eating, yes. We will not only help you with your training, but also set you on the right path to eating healthy. The paleo diet and the zone diet, in our opinion, are the best ways to maximize your performance and (for some people) lean out as well.
Q: I have a bad back, bad knees, bad shoulder etc., can I do this?
A: Yes. All workouts can be scaled to your strengths and limitations. We will strengthen your weak areas, and your physical capabilities will progress quickly. If limited by a serious injury, we can still program workouts based on you physical capabilities. By utilizing the CrossFit model of performing functional movements and learning to use the proper and full range of motions, I’m confident we can get you back on to the right path to your pre-injury days.
Q: I want to put on muscle. Should I do this?
A: Yes, if you are interested in gaining real functional muscles without artificial enhancements. If you seriously want to put on muscle you need to exercise all muscle groups at varying intensities, reps, and loads. You also need to feed growing muscle the right way, and with the nutritional information we offer, you will be on the right path to attaining your desired fitness goals.
Q: I am a senior, will this be too hard?
A: There is no such thing as being too old or too young. We will scale the workouts for you and you will progress at your own pace. Keeping your independence for as long as possible is best accomplished through constantly varied, functional movements, done at high intensity – CrossFit.
Q: Why are the prices not listed? Are you that expensive?
A: No we are not that expensive. What is the price for not being sick or injured anymore? What is the price for being in the best shape of your life?
We are not 24hr fitness, so prices are not that cheap. We compete not on price, but only on quality. The quality at HXF is that of an elite sports, strength and conditioning program, though we are much more affordable since we teach in a group setting.
As long as you understand what you are getting, then we will gladly discuss costs. We prefer that you come try it out for free first, and then ask. Then it’s up to you to decide. We don’t want to sit you down in an office and try to get you to sign a contract. If you can’t see the value or don’t want it that is fine. Those who are serious about their fitness will.
Some gyms may omit common modalities such as olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, or even running. Some use only bodyweight exercises or kettlebells. There are also many differences in training styles and methods. We show you what to do, teach you how to do it, and explain why you are doing it. You will constantly learn new skills and improve techniques that will help advance your fitness.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes. We offer couples, active military, firefighters and police officers a discount.
Q: How much is your drop-in fee?
A: $15 and you must have CrossFit experience.
